I’ve been following the rise of this British pop singer A*M*E for a little while now. Hailing from South London via Sierra Leone she makes fun, catchy pop tunes and has a bright and playful image to match her music.
At just 18 years old she’s already toured with Jessie J and The Wanted. Another Jessie (Ware) has expressed her love of A*M*E’s latest musical offering as have a few of the One Direction boys.
A*M*E has teamed up with UK DJ and producer Duke Dumont for this little eighties number, Need U (100%). The single was released on Easter Sunday and is currently sitting at number one in the mid-week chart.
A*M*E was formerly signed to none other than Mr Take That himself, Gary Barlow’s record label and was one of the artists featured on the BBC’s sound of 2013. You might also have come across her if you picked up last month’s Company or Asos magazine. She was featured as one of Company’s rising stars and shared her beauty loves in Asos’ Beauty Junkie feature.
Duke Dumont recently did a superb Chicago House mini mix for Annie Mac you can still listen to ‘2O ways to Jack’ here but be quick it will disappear from iplayer in two days.
Not heard the single yet? Have a listen here. How can you not love this? Disco vibes on Wednesday afternoon.
