London Fashion Week Round Up: Part One

Another LFW has come and gone. Thousands of street style pictures taken, a few model tumbles, fashion week first timers and of course, fabulous collections. Here are some of the most talked about shows from LFW.

First off, Henry Holland’s House of Holland. I absolutely love this guy! His collections are, in my opinion, incredible. They have a young energy to them and although he has world-wide recognition and deservedly so, there’s something explicitly British about them.

He’s been a favourite of mine since his rhyming slogan tees (UHU Gareth Pugh etc.) and I’ve loved following his creative development. Anyway back to the here and now, or rather the here and last weekend, Henry showed his latest collection dubbed ‘Rave Nana’ at LFW.

The show featured fun but wearable pieces, something that Holland does so well.  Three of my favourite pieces (after much deliberation) are posted below but there are some great pieces in the collection and the pins and badges are so quirky and cute.

You can see the full collection here.

A good friend of Henry Holland’s made their LFW debut this past weekend. Her name? Rihanna of course. Rihanna’s River Island collection was hotly anticipated and after teases of behind the scenes footage and pictures, we finally got to see all the pieces.

The collection definitely had the Rihanna stamp all over it with daringly high splits, bright bold colours, crop tops and a few see through pieces. You can imagine her wearing every single item but it’s not a costume collection. So there’s no reason to fear that if you don one of the outfits you’ll end up looking like a wannabe Rihanna, even if that’s the look you’re going for. It’s a pretty credible collection, especially for someone who isn’t a designer. Of course we all know Riri loves fashion but a love of clothes doesn’t always equal such a hot collection.

If you missed the show take a look here.
